mornings
I love early mornings when it’s still dark and the world is quiet. It’s my best time of day. And the studio is my favorite place to be.
Old book pages from a Knickerbocker’s guide to New York history are on my work table. The pages have faded to a gorgeous sienna. I painted some with gesso, used some India ink, and encaustic on others.
They felt like fragments from the past, rich in history, something to cherish . . . reminding me of my days in New York.
I absentmindedly started assembling the torn pieces. Hours go by in a kind of meditation. Here are a few of them.
It’s a great beginning to a new year.
May 2026 be filled with all the people and experiences you love.
Thank you for your support during 2025. It means a lot to me.
Warmly,
